🏢 About the Employer

This opportunity is posted by a verified private industrial employer based in Riyadh — listed on SaudiaJobs.net since January 2025. The same employer is also hiring a Fabricator — candidates with both welding and fabrication skills may be eligible for both positions. The employer is looking for a qualified Multi-Process Welder who can handle complex welding tasks across multiple processes and materials in an industrial environment.

📝 Key Responsibilities

  • Perform high-quality welding using multiple welding processes — specifically SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding / Stick) and GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding / TIG) — selecting the correct process based on material type, joint design, and WPS requirements.
  • Read and accurately interpret welding drawings, WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications), and engineering blueprints — working precisely from technical documentation throughout all welding activities.
  • Weld a variety of metal types and grades — including Carbon Steel (CS), Stainless Steel (SS), and alloy metals — applying correct pre-heat, interpass temperature, and post-weld procedures for each material.
  • Perform all necessary material preparation for welding — including cutting, grinding, beveling, and fit-up verification to ensure joint preparation meets WPS and drawing requirements before welding.
  • Ensure all welds meet required quality standards and dimensional tolerances — supporting QC inspection and NDT activities as required.
  • Maintain welding equipment in clean and serviceable condition — reporting any equipment faults or consumable shortages promptly.
  • Follow all site HSE and welding safety procedures — including PPE usage, fire prevention, and safe handling of welding gases and equipment.

✅ Requirements

  • Trade certificate or diploma in welding or fabrication — formal vocational qualification is required.
  • Proven hands-on experience as a Multi-Process Welder — specifically with SMAW and GTAW welding processes.
  • Ability to read and work from welding drawings, WPS documents, and blueprints accurately and independently.
  • Experience welding carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloy metals — understanding material-specific welding requirements and techniques.
  • Practical skills in material preparation — cutting, grinding, fit-up verification, and pre-weld inspection.
  • Must be currently in Riyadh or eligible to work in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
  • Valid Iqama or legal work authorization in Saudi Arabia.

🎁 Benefits

  • 💰 Basic salary: SAR 1,800 – SAR 2,400/month (local rate)
  • Work in Riyadh’s active industrial and construction market
  • Stable full-time employment with clear technical requirements
  • Direct hiring — no agency fees or middlemen involved

💡 Also Hiring — Fabricator (Same Employer)

The same employer is also hiring a Fabricator in Riyadh — salary SAR 1,700 – 2,000/month. If you have both welding and fabrication skills, mention this when you apply. See the full Fabricator job post on SaudiaJobs.net for details.

❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What is SMAW and GTAW welding?

SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) — also known as Stick welding — uses a consumable electrode coated in flux to lay the weld. It is one of the most common and versatile welding processes used in structural and industrial applications. GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) — also known as TIG welding — uses a non-consumable tungsten electrode and produces precise, high-quality welds. GTAW is particularly important for stainless steel and alloy metal welding.

Is welding certification required?

A trade certificate or diploma in welding or fabrication is listed as a requirement. Welding certification tests (WPQ — Welder Performance Qualification) to ASME, AWS, or similar standards would be a strong advantage for this role.

What does “local salary” mean?

Local salary means the rate offered to candidates already based in Saudi Arabia. Confirm full package details directly with the employer when applying.
