❓ Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is HACCP certification strictly mandatory?
Yes. HACCP Certification is a non-negotiable mandatory requirement — candidates without a valid HACCP certification will not be considered for this position regardless of their other qualifications.
What is SFDA and why is it important for this role?
The Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) is Saudi Arabia’s primary regulatory body for food safety — setting standards, conducting inspections, and enforcing compliance for all food businesses operating in the Kingdom. Experience working with SFDA requirements and inspectors is a significant advantage for this role.
What does ISO 22000 cover?
ISO 22000 is an international Food Safety Management System standard — it integrates HACCP principles with broader food safety management requirements into a comprehensive system applicable to all food businesses. Candidates with ISO 22000 knowledge or lead auditor certification are strongly preferred.
Why is transferable Iqama specifically required?
The employer requires a transferable Iqama to facilitate immediate employment — the candidate’s Iqama sponsorship will be transferred to the employer without delay. Non-transferable Iqama holders cannot be considered.
What is the expected salary?
Based on market rates for Food Safety Officers with HACCP certification and restaurant experience in Riyadh, the expected range is SAR 5,000 – SAR 9,000 per month. Candidates holding additional certifications (ISO 22000, Food Safety Level 3) and SFDA experience can negotiate toward the higher end.
