The UN Resident Coordinator’s Office in Riyadh is hiring a Partnerships Officer to support strategic partnerships between the UN, the Saudi government, private sector, and civil society in advancing the Sustainable Development Goals. This position is open exclusively to Saudi Arabian nationals — a requirement of the National Professional Officer category, which by UN rules must be filled by nationals of the country where the role is based.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead development of the UN’s Partnership Strategy alongside the Resident Coordinator and UN Country Team
  • Liaise with government, private sector, civil society, and development partners on SDG-related initiatives
  • Support resource mobilization strategies and funding proposals for the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework
  • Serve as a liaison to the UN Global Compact Local Network
  • Contribute to knowledge management and best-practice sharing across the Resident Coordinator system

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in business/public administration, sustainable development, social sciences, or a related field (a bachelor’s plus 2 extra years of qualifying experience may substitute)
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in strategic partnerships, resource mobilization, or development cooperation
  • Demonstrated experience building partnerships across government, private sector, and civil society
  • Fluent English and Arabic (UN Level II in reading, writing, listening, and speaking)
