Job Description
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, degreasing, grinding, and abrasive blasting before applying coatings.
- Apply primers, intermediate, and finish coats using airless spray equipment according to project specifications.
- Ensure the coating thickness, uniformity, and finish meet industry standards and client requirements.
- Inspect painted surfaces for defects and carry out touch-ups or rework as necessary.
- Maintain spray painting equipment and work areas to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Follow quality control standards and assist during inspections when required.
- Adhere to safety practices and HSE policies, including proper handling of paints, chemicals, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a spray painter in a fabrication yard or industrial setting.
- Valid third-party certification (NACE, SSPC, or equivalent) is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of industrial coating systems and surface preparation standards.
- Experience using airless spray painting equipment.
- Ability to understand and follow technical drawings, coating specifications, and work instructions.
- Physically fit and able to work in a fabrication yard environment.
- Good understanding of safety practices related to painting and coating work.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in Oil & Gas or heavy fabrication projects.
- Knowledge of coating inspection requirements (DFT, surface cleanliness standards).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
