Job Description
As a Store Helper at PPCO, you will assist with the daily operations of our warehouse/store and help manage materials, tools, and equipment used in large-scale projects. Your key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Storekeeper in receiving, checking, and unloading incoming materials, tools, and equipment.
- Carrying, arranging, and properly stacking/store items in designated areas according to safety standards.
- Supporting in issuing materials and tools to site teams based on approved requests.
- Maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in the store/warehouse area.
- Assisting with periodic stock counts and reporting discrepancies.
- Tagging and labeling materials for easy identification and traceability.
- Handling loading and unloading of vehicles with proper care.
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) guidelines.
- Providing support in waste disposal and organizing returned materials.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the Storekeeper or Store Supervisor.
Qualifications & Skills
The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications:
- High school education or equivalent (preferred).
- Basic knowledge of warehouse/store operations.
- Ability to read and understand material codes and labels.
- Physically fit to handle lifting and manual work.
- Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Prior experience in construction/contracting stores is an advantage.
Working Conditions
This position is based at the PPCO warehouse/store or project sites and may require overtime during peak project activities. The work involves standing, lifting, carrying, and moving materials.
