📝 Key Accountabilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project cost control systems, procedures, and reporting tools to ensure full financial visibility across all active projects.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost baselines, and cash flow forecasts in alignment with project timelines and contractual obligations.
  • Monitor project expenditures and commitments against approved budgets and highlight variances with detailed root cause analysis and corrective recommendations.
  • Perform comprehensive cost analysis, cost-to-complete forecasting, and Earned Value Management (EVM) reporting for project leadership and stakeholders.
  • Review and validate subcontractor payments, supplier invoices, and variation orders to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper authorization.
  • Evaluate change orders, contractual claims, and variations, providing detailed cost impact assessments and supporting the commercial team in negotiations.
  • Prepare periodic cost reports including forecasts, commitment summaries, and financial performance dashboards for management review.
  • Support tendering and pre-award activities through accurate cost estimation, benchmarking, and Bill of Quantities (BOQ) analysis.
  • Coordinate closely with project managers, planning engineers, procurement, and commercial teams to ensure alignment and consistency of cost data.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide actionable recommendations for value engineering and budget optimization initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate and organized cost records, logs, and documentation for audit readiness and internal reporting purposes.
  • Ensure full compliance with contractual requirements, company financial policies, and established project controls standards at all times.

✅ Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a closely related field is required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in cost engineering, cost control, or quantity surveying on large-scale construction or engineering projects.
  • Strong expertise in Earned Value Management (EVM), cost forecasting, and project controls methodologies.
  • Proven ability to review and assess subcontractor claims, variation orders, and contractual cost impacts.
  • Proficiency in cost management and project controls software such as Primavera P6, Oracle, SAP, or similar platforms.
